The Indonesian Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, has officially launched an Indonesia second home visa policy. This second home visa will be available to apply for from 24 December 2022.
The goal of the second home visa is aimed towards foreigners or ex-Indonesians who want to stay and contribute positively to the Indonesian economy. With this visa, foreigners can stay for 5 years or 10 years after meeting certain criteria.
Foreigners on this new Indonesian second home visa can carry out various activities, such as investments and other activities. However, foreigners are not allowed to work on this new visa.
Applications for this Indonesia second home visa can be done through a website-based visa application (visa-online.imigration.go.id). The documents that are required are:
a. A passport which is valid for a minimum of 36 months at the time of applying for the Indonesia second home visa;
b. Proof of funds in the form of an account belonging to a foreigner or guarantor with
a value of at least IDR 2,000,000,000 (two billion rupiah) or equivalent. The proof of funds can be submitted by either;
- Bank certificate or statements.
- A certificate of property ownership in Indonesia with the luxury category.
c. Recent color photograph with a size of 4 cm x 6 cm with a white background;
d. Curriculum Vitae.

The price for the Indonesia second home visa is IDR 3,000,000 in accordance with the provisions in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 2 of 2022.
This new immigration policy is one of the non-fiscal incentives that is designed with the purpose of being a stimulus for certain foreigners to stay and contribute positively to the Indonesian economy amidst increasingly dynamic global economic conditions.
